April Special Investigator - Adrienne Ford

Hi There!

My Name is Adrienne Ford. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and currently live here with my loving husband, and two beautiful babies- Luke, my rough and tumble yet sweet as pie two year old and my beautiful baby girl Karina. I am a kindergarten teacher by trade, but have left that field to be a stay-at-home mama for the time being.

 I got into scrapbooking when my son was born in 2010, so I am fairly new at this awesome hobby. I found that I not only needed a way to house all my gorgeous photos of him, but I also needed a creative outlet that was just for me. ( My husband was also was begging me to get a hobby!- hehe!)

Since then I have been evolving as a scrapper and have been creating like crazy!

 My style is a little bit of everything, and my layouts can range from being soft and romantic to bright and fun to dark and grungy and back again. I absolutely LOVE flowers and chipboard which are usually incorporated in most of my layouts. As of lately, I have been playing around with paint, white space, and I particularly enjoy clustering elements on my pages. But one thing is for sure. My joy of scrapping is ever-evolving for I love to try new techniques and I have found my layouts are becoming more and more "artsy" and full to the brim with dimension.

Interrogation:

What is your favorite color(s) to work with? This is a really hard question for me to answer because I really do love working with any color, but since I have to pick I would say that I enjoy working with pink shades and turquoise as of lately!

What would you say is your "fingerprint" on your scrapbook pages? (i.e., what do most of your pages have that make it your signature style?) Hands down I MUST have flowers of all kinds on my page! I have tried several times NOT to have flowers but alas, I just cant do it! I love them! This however becomes a stretch at times when I am creating a page about my son. I try to tone the flower obsession down- just a touch! ;)

What do you find most challenging when working on a layout? I sometimes find journaling to be a bit of a challenge. Its not so much that I don't want to add it, its where to add it without it becoming a distraction or taking the focus away from the picture. Because of this I tend to find discrete ways of journaling like using hidden journaling as well as writing on the small side.

What is your favorite part about CSI--the colors, the stories, or the inspiration? I LOVE THE COLORS!!!!!!! Every week I just love to open the case and take a peek at the colors, they are always so rich and I just cant contain my excitement- I want to "play" ASAP!

Confession time. Okay, fess up! What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here? I have an addiction to coffee. I am such a miserable person in the morning without my coffee. Thats right! I said it your honor! I need coffee running in my veins to keep me a sane mommy! Once I have my cup I feel like I can take on the world!
