Happy April, CSI Members! A new month brings so many new things to CSI: a new sponsor, new Guest Detectives, and a new team of Special Investigators. April is National Poetry Month, so that's the theme that will tie all of our Case Files together (yes, we are hoping you will try your hand at writing some poetry this month!). Our Case File also has a brand-new look, thanks to Michele Singh.

We want to thank our March sponsor, Words or Whatever, for their generosity in sponsoring us, and their awesome design team for providing inspiration all month. A hearty thanks to Melinda Thompson, our Special March Guest Detective, for sharing her gorgeous creations with us. And a great big hug and thank you to our first team of Special Investigators--Debbi McCue, Ellinor Bergdahl, Jennifer Shaw, and Sarah Martin. Their amazing contributions show why they were chosen as Special Investigators!

Now on to April. We are thrilled to have The Paper Bakery Kit Club sponsor us this month, and their design team is going to be with us all month providing fantastic inspiration! Joining us this week are Sarah Hill, owner of the Paper Bakery, Amanda Johnson, Angela Gutshall, Erin Yamabe, Grace Tolman, and Mary Ann Jenkins. Our Special Guest Detective for April is Sarah Klemish! We just love how she's interpreted the Case File with her clean and classic style.

• Atlantic Sea Green - a pale olive green - taken from the ocean - 198.191.154
• Powdery Sand - beige - taken from the sky around the center - 247.229.205
• Bottom of the Sea - greenish brown - taken from the ocean where the water meets the sand - 102.88.51
• Pink Ruffles - ballerina pink - taken from the ruffles - 251.206.204
• Beachy Keen - pale buttery yellow with a peach tinge to it - taken from the bunny's head - 253.235.202

EVIDENCE

• Use ruffles (e.g. fabric ruffles, make paper ruffles, ruffled ribbon, etc.).
• Use animal accent(s).
• Use a wet medium (e.g., paint, mist, ink, etc.)
• Use something sand-like (e.g., sand or glitter or flocking or embossing powder).
• Create waves (interpret that any way you wish!).
• Use sanding as a technique.

• Document a childhood memory.

• Inspiration Words: horizon, innocence, time--Use these words as jumping-off points for your journaling.

Very beatuiful case! The DT's work are all fab and very inspiring.

It's a challenging one for me, having boys' photos to scrap... ruffles, balerina pink, buttery yellow with a touch of peach... I guess I'll have to be very creative with this one... LOL but I think I will give it a try :).

Why not scrap about yourself, Libeeti? Perhaps even a picture of you as a child?

Otherwise, focus on the other colors and use pink just to accent.

I did as you suggested and did a lo with my photo...

Evengually the challenging part was the 'greenish brown'... I didn't have anything like it in my stash, but I didn't give up! and I loved the sanding effect! I totally forgot using this technique so thank you for bringing it.
