Happy Friday! And Happy August! A new month brings fun new surprises to CSI--a new sponsor, new guest designers, and a brand-new theme to tie our Case Files together.

We are delighted to have Peace, Love & Scrapbooking as our August sponsor! Peace, Love & Scrapbooking was born out of a passion for scrapbooking and preserving memories.  They strive to put together kits that feature the latest products from several manufacturers ... taking care to make sure everything coordinates perfectly!  Each kit is jam packed with paper and embellies and will always contain enough product for you to create several stunning layouts or cards.  Peace, Love & Scrapbooking isn't a typical kit club, there is no membership or monthly minimums ... just beautiful kits at one low price!  You choose what you want, when you want it and how many of each kit you'd like!

Our August Special Agent is Bente Fagerberg. Bente is a master at distressing and using color to complement her photos. Her beautiful work has a shabby, homespun feel that is sure to inspire us all this month!

August brings us a new team of talented Special Investigators. Please welcome Ali Parris, Belinda Spencer, Debbie Standard, and Milagros C Rivera.These ladies' work has consistently caught our eye in the gallery, and we are thrilled to have them with us this month!

So are you ready for this week's challenge? Our theme for August is Down by the Sea. This week's Case File was inspired by "Key West Umbrellas" by Mark Schuver, whose gorgeous photo caught my eye in the Flickr gallery, and I just knew it would be the perfect colors to kick off our August challenges.

COLOR DETAILS AND RGB CODES (USE ALL 5 COLORS)

 

• Island Sky - cyan blue, taken from the second table - 111.231.247
• Tropical Sunshine - bright yellow, taken from the first table - 246.224.3
• Key Lime - chartreuse, taken from the umbrellas - 212.227.76
• Paradise Pink - Persian pink, (a shade lighter than Barbie pink, but the same kidn of color, taken from the first pink stool - 245.142.187
• Caribbean Sea - bright teal blue, taken from the shadowy part of the cyan stool - 2.157.159

EVIDENCE (CHOOSE AT LEAST 2 ELEMENTS)

• Document a vacation.
• Write your journaling in the form of an itinerary (doesn't have to actually be about a vacation).
• This photo is called "Key West Umbrellas." Begin your journaling with, "The key to ___ is..."
• Use repetition in your journaling.
• Add something to the top of your journaling spot, sort of like an umbrella or canopy.
• Inspiration Words: color, bright, vacation -- use these as inspiration for your journaling, not just as a title
