Happy Friday! Happy New Year! And Happy Birthday, CSI! CSI turned one year old last week, and as promised, we'll be having fun surprises each week of January. In case you missed the suprises from last week, you can read all about them here. And don't forget to check out the Happy Birthday, CSI forum for fun discussions all month. Anyone want to join me in a weight-loss journey in 2013--there's a thread for that in there too!
One of our special surprises is that we have some of our retired Detectives coming out of retirement to reunite with the design team again this month! This week, we are so happy to have the lovely Ellinor Bergdahl, Sarah Martin, and Susan Stringfellow back with us!
We are super-duper excited to tell you about Week 2's special surprise because this surprise is going to last all year long! Emma Stafrace is joining the CSI team as our Composite Sketch Artist! Em's sketches at her site Page Drafts have already inspired so many of our team and members, and now Em will be creating a Page Draft exclusively for CSI each second week of the month! We know you will love her sketches and that you will find them a fun addition to the Case File.
We are thrilled to have Pink Paislee as our main sponsor this month! Their wonderful designers will be joining us all month. This week, we have Leslie Ashe joining us.
Here's a little bit about this fabulous company, in their own words:
Pink Paislee products aren't manufactured...they are crafted! Each product we develop must meet our impeccable standards from design to delivery in order to carry our Pink Paislee name. It begins with original design, carefully selected color palettes, and a strong attention to detail. The first time you put our products to use, you will enjoy the excitement and satisfaction of preserving memories that will last a lifetime. As you experience life and uncover new stories, be sure to accentuate your art with Pink Paislee.
Established in January of 2008, Pink Paislee is a family owned business based outside of Kansas City, Missouri. We pride ourselves in developing products that blend design and function to make scrapbooking and paper crafting easier! With over 500 products available from Pink Paislee, consumers can find our items in scrapbook specialty stores throughout 50 different countries.
Pink Paislee is awarding this month's sponsor winner their entire Secret Crush collection:

We are also thrilled to have Flying Unicorn as our permanent sponsor. Flying Unicorn...it’s about One of a Kind. They offer an incredible selection of products for all paper crafting artists. Their Kit of the Month is filled with the latest and greatest and includes an off-the-page project to keep your creative muse flowing! Flying Unicorn is generously donating a gift certificate to CSI winners each month.
We are also delighted to have Scrapbook Fantasies as a permanent sponsor who will be donating a prize of beautiful ribbons and trims each week to our Star Witness. Scrapbook Fantasies is a Scrapbooking, Papercrafts and Mixed Media business opened in November 2002 in Gladstone, Queensland. The well stocked store receives new stock daily, and supports a boutique style online store here. The owner Alicia runs Weekly Challenges and many other competitions giving away over $250 dollars in store vouchers every month. The Gallery hosts thousands of customer creations, and is available for viewing without login. Parcels are posted within Australia at a flat $6.50 or the actual postage rate (whichever is the lesser), or FREE for orders over $100. International parcels are posted at the actual postage rate. Here is the beautiful offering this week, which is hand-picked to coordinate with this week's Case File:
Our January Special Agent is Piradee Talvanna! I have long admired Piradee's style and talent, and just a peek at her extensive resume shows that the rest of the scrapbooking world feels the same way. She currently designs for Crate Paper, Maya Road, Webster's Pages, and Creating Keepsakes magazine and has also designed for Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants, American Crafts, Lily Bee, and Collage Press, to name a few. We are so fortunate that Piradee took time out of her incredibly busy schedule to join us this month!
We also have some very special CSI Members joining the design team this month as our team of Special Investigators: Adriana Bolzon, Laura Mooney (aka Moongirl), Sandi Taloumis, and Stephanie Schütze. These ladies' beautiful work has consistently caught our eye in the gallery, and their creations this week are equally inspiring!
Please visit all our guest designers' pages in the Guest Detective forum to say hi and to hear how they responded to our "Interrogation."
As always, Michele has created a fabulous set of printables for you! Check out the fabulous collage words and mixed media patterned paper Michele created for us! We can't wait to see how you use the Coordinates this week! Note: There are two separate files for our Coordinates this week.
CSI Coordinates can always be found at the bottom of the reveal threads. Scroll all the way to the bottom, where it says "Attachments." They are just above the reply box. Read about some tips on how to use these cool printables here.
A new month also brings a new theme that ties together our Case Files. January is National Hot Tea Month. The cool Scene which inspired this week's Case File is by Tracy Nuskey-Doson from the Vintage Sister Studio.
So are you ready for this week's challenge? Grab your forensics kits, CSI members, and get ready for some serious sleuthing as we open Case File No. 54.
