Hello, everyone! My name is Yumi Takasaki. Also known as marimari. I live in Oita, Japan with my wonderful husband and two beautiful children, Mari is fifteen and Shou is eleven.
I started scrapbooking in 2006. A scrapbooking book that I'd found at a stationary store brought me to this world, and I've been addicted to it ever since.
I made my layouts almost everyday, while I took some scrapbooking and stamping classes to get certifications. I enjoy scrapbooking making samples for SB shop and doing some challenges from sketch sites. My hobbies other than scrapbooking are traveling, taking pictures, and going out to have yummy food ;)
I am so honored to be a special investigator for this month's challenge!! Thank you so much Debbi for inviting me to CSI!
Interrogation
What is your favorite color(s) to work with? I like to work with colors that match the pictures I'm using or the season on simple backgrounds in white or beige.
What would you say is your "fingerprint" on your scrapbook pages? (i.e., what do most of your pages have that make it your signature style?) Inking, misting, and stamping! I often start with a clean background to make my original background, and I really enjoy it!
What do you find most challenging when working on a layout? Balancing pictures and embellishments. Keeping it simple.
What is your favorite part about CSI--the colors, the stories, or the inspiration? The inspiration! The images are nice and really stir my imagination.
Confession time. Okay, fess up! What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here? I like to have everything in different colors: paper flowers, mists, or even alphabet stickers. The other day I shopped online and bought some of my favorite little roses in different colors. My family doesn't understand why I have to have so many items to scrap. It takes up a lot of space in our home. It's because I can't be satisfied with only one color!

Hi Yumi! Thank you for being one of our Special Investigators this month! Great interview. I think non-scrappers can never really understand why we 'need' such a big stash. Who would want to use only pink roses! Looking forward to seeing what you create this month!

Thank you so much for being a Special Investigator, Yumi! Your work is so inspiring! Your confession made me laugh because I'm the same way when I find an embellishment I love--gotta have it in all the colors!
