Hi there, I'm Keri Babbitt.  I'm a mom of two, who’s been happily crafting since high school.

I love capturing life’s moments and expressing myself artistically through scrapbooking. I'm obsessed with anything vintage and love trying new techniques, as well as finding creative, eco-friendly ways to make my supplies stretch. I love to experiment with any and every scrapping style, from minimalist to shabby chic. I am often a grid-based, multi-photo scrapper, and enjoy finding well-designed ways to include lots of photos.

I've had the pleasure of being published in Simple Scrapbooks, Creating Keepsakes, and several E-zines, and I currently design and/or coordinate for Vintage Street Market, Pretty Little Studio, and Little Black Dress kit club.  Other than crafting, I enjoy reading, contemporary dance, antiquing, and the outdoors.  Thanks so much for letting me join in on all the fun, as guest detective here at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration!

Interrogation

What is your favorite color(s) to work with? Color in general is a favorite for me, so I’m really inspired by cool & unexpected color combinations!  Lately, I’ve most often been enjoying robin’s egg blue, teal, tangerine, scarlet, and mustard yellow.

What would you say is your "fingerprint" on your scrapbook pages? (i.e., what do most of your pages have that make it your signature style?) Hmmm…stitching, foam adhesive, paints, punches, multiple photos, and trims/twine.

What do you find most challenging when working on a layout? How to fit it all on there!  I want to make sure I don’t neglect enough photos+words to tell the real story, as well as enough cute product to make it fun!

What is your favorite part about CSI--the colors, the stories, or the inspiration? I love how much time is put into each aspect…so much inspiration to choose from!  I think my favorite things are the inspiration photo & the coordinating digital/print-out elements.

Confession time. Okay, fess up! What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here? Ok, ok, I confess…though I love to scrap in a fancy, layered, small-photo style for design teams…there are many MANY pages I make at home, just for me, in the good old 4x6-plus old stickers/product-plus lots of messy handwritten journaling style.  And I love them.
