June Special Investigator - Elaine Rolfe

Hi, my name is Elaine. I am quite old this year, live with my husband David and 8 children and 2 foster children. We live in Wales in the UK, and have done for the past 10 years.

My interests are Scrapbooking - nothing new there! I started 3 years ago when my husband thought I might like the hobby and got me a starter kit - he regrets it now!! I love taking photos and have recently upgraded my camera and got some good lenses, hopefully it should enable me to get better photos - you never know!

I love gardening, and have a large garden that is open to the public for charity. I love swimming too, and help coach the team my youngest swims for.
In my spare time (haha) I like to go out with the family, to take photos of course!

Interrogation

What is your favorite color(s) to work with? When scrapping I love to use lots of colour, mainly the colours in the photos I'm using, I hardly ever use black and white photos - I think that's cheating! I use a lot of orange, blue and red.

What would you say is your "fingerprint" on your scrapbook pages? My pages are quite busy, and I find white space almost impossible to do and white backgrounds! I love to ink with distress inks, tear, stamp, scrunch up and distress my papers, I love cutting out the papers, and making my own flowers.

What do you find most challenging when working on a layout? I'd love to be more creative in my journaling, and to actually put some on my LO's.

What is your favorite part about CSI--the colors, the stories, or the inspiration? Probably trying to get all the colours and photos to fit together. 5 different colours is quite hard, but I love the challenge!

Confession time. Okay, fess up! What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here? I'm a bit of a box-a-holic....I love interesting storage boxes, there is one shop that has some really lovely ones and I keep popping in to see, and usually buy some more...I have far too many and I need to put some stuff in them, so at least then they would be useful ! (Don't tell my husband)...

I wish I had too many storage boxes at home, all mine are filled to the rim!

I am the same as you with white space, love how it looks and often intend to leave white space on my layouts, but tend to fill it up.
