Hi All you CSI Ladies! Hope this finds you all scrap-happy and ready for some inspiration!
I wanted to pop in to the CSI Lab and share with you a brief tutorial of a layout I did recently, just for fun. This layout was made using up leftover scraps- those bits and pieces. You know what I mean!
I personally have had some items-particularly paper flowers that I have had for some time now that I don't particularly care for. I also have some handmade flowers I have made over the course of the past couple of years that are of a color I just cant stand!! My neat and tidy self has had the urge to throw these items away, but I have kept them to await inspiration.
And the day has come.

Ladies, Co wanted to know how I got the effect of the brick wall. I used chipboard from the Australian Company Dusty Attic. I also can create the same effect by using a brick wall mask or my Dusty Attic Brick wall negative. I apply Golden's Gel Medium in the cracks to get the same effect.
Permalink Reply by Sarah Martin on June 20, 2012 at 2:00am Oh yay Adrienne, I'm so glad you've done a tutorial! I have been hanging out for this. Your backgrounds are always amazing!
Thank you for the fabulous tips. Can't wait to use some of them and show you what I come up with.
Love your work xo
Adrienne, thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. I've been in a scrapbooking rut lately and I need to try new techniques to shake things up a bit. So today I went to Michaels and bought a bottle of clear gesso, and a brush to apply it. I am going to give mixed media a try. I love your advice to forget the rules and create. Between your tutorial, and one I saw on YouTube, I hope to let go of the feeling of making mistakes on my pages. We'll see how it goes. TFS:)

I have always loved the look of the mixed media pages but always been to afraid to try them.. dont know why because I do canvasses. Just love the layout and will definitely try now. Thank you for sharing this and making it so easy :D
