Hi everyone! I’m Mary Ann Jenkins from sunny Southern California. I have 3 awesome boys, 1 sweet little princess, and a wonderful husband that are the subjects of many of my scrapbook layouts. I love recording the memories and stories we create in our everyday lives.
I’ve been scrapping since 1986, when I heard a commercial on the radio about learning to preserve family memories. A few patterned papers and decorative scissors later I was hooked, and never imagined scrapbooking would become a passion, or that I would have a room in my home dedicated to the hobby.
When I'm not in my scrapbook studio making a mess, I enjoy: flea markets, spending time with my family, working in my garden, shopping for hours at Target, taking my camera everywhere I go and bracelets. A girl can never have too many bracelets!
What is your favorite color(s) to work with?I don't think I could pick just one or two favorites. There are so many I love! I do know that I never use purple, so I could say it's not my favorite.
What would you say is your "fingerprint" on your scrapbook pages? (i.e., what do most of your pages have that make it your signature style?) I love adding dimension to my pages, so foam tape can always be found (or hidden as the case may be) on my layouts.
What do you find most challenging when working on a layout? Using more than 1 photo is most challenging for me. When I first started scrapbooking, using as many photos as possible was the style. Now I love to just use 1 photo as my main focus. Sometimes I will add a few smaller sized photos, but for the most part, one photo makes me happy.
What is your favorite part about CSI--the colors, the stories, or the inspiration? Oh the colors for sure! It's fun to have a color palette all ready matched for you and ready to play with!
Confession time. Okay, fess up! What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here? If you were to look in my stash, I may or may not have a few sheets of patterned paper from 1999. Sometime there is a paper you just can't get rid of because you never know when you might need it!
I'm excited to be sharing my creations with you here at CSI, and would love for you stop by my blog sometime and say hello: I Rock Paper and Scissors.
