My name is Lisa. I live in a small suburb of Detroit, Michigan. I have a great, hard-working husband, Eric. We've been married for 13 years and have two wonderful boys, Ethan and Sawyer. They are in the majority of my layouts along with our travels. I’ve been trying to incorporate more of the everyday life into what I scrap as well as more pages about me. I think that there are not enough of those.
I've been scrapbooking for some time, thanks to my husband. He bought my first "kit" nearly 10 years ago, when our first son was born. I think if he knew before hand what this would grow into, he probably would have thought again. This small hobby now requires my own room to contain it. I am thankful that I have that luxury.
It seems I have become the family "memory keeper", so all photos and memorabilia tend to end up on my table (and my floor and in boxes and... and...). I'm convinced I will NEVER be caught up.
I am currently on the design team for Color Me Scrappy and Peace, Love & Scrapbooking.
Interrogation
What is your favorite color(s) to work with? I am not opposed to any color, but I tend to gravitate toward blues and greens. My pages usually contain a pop of color along with those like red, yellow or orange.
What would you say is your "fingerprint" on your scrapbook pages? (i.e., what do most of your pages have that make it your signature style?) I have rediscovered my stamps. A month after I cleaned my scrap area of construction dust after a house renovation, I discovered my stamps hadn’t been cleaned or used. For some reason, I got away from using them and they are now my go-to supply.
What do you find most challenging when working on a layout? I struggle with finding the “perfect” embellishment. I’m trying to get away from that perfectionist mindset. The colors DO NOT have to match! I repeat... The colors DO NOT have to match!
What is your favorite part about CSI--the colors, the stories, or the inspiration? Oh, definitely the colors! I love color combinations of any sort. I notice colors in everything... clothing, décor, nature, food and then try to repeat those on my pages.
Confession time. Okay, fess up! What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here? I am on an endless endeavor to find the perfect storage solution for my ever-growing supplies. I must have 10 different configurations of bins and cabinets, but I’m still searching.
