Tell Your Story. It's our tagline, and here at CSI, it's one of our missions to get our members to delve deeper into journaling--to document the meaningful bits and pieces that make up our lives. We would like to shine a special spotlight each week on a member who did an exceptional job telling their story.
Journey to You by Adrienne Ford
First, we want to shout out that the artistry of Adrienne's layout is just amazing! Her first experiment with molding past turned into a brilliant masterpiece! Bravo, Adrienne, for taking that leap! To understand why we chose Adrienne as Star Witness this week, you must click on the link to read her journaling, which she's housed in a pocket on the back of her page. We loved reading the details of her baby's journey, and the voice in Adrienne's writing is wonderful! We love that she wrote the journaling as a letter to her daughter and imagine that Karina will love reading it some day!
Each week, five layouts that caught our eye will be chosen to feature as our "Most Wanted." With so many amazing layouts in the gallery, it was incredibly hard to narrow the "lineup" down to five, but here they are, in no particular order. (Please click on the title beneath the layout to take you to the layout in the gallery where you can leave the creators some comments.)
Di's layout is stunning! The photo is absolutely precious, and we love the mix of elegance with the touch of whimsy Di added with the balloons, feathers, and curvy branches. The distressing is gorgeous, and it really shows off the punched border at the top. The composition of Di's page is beautiful, and the touches of black are just striking!
And just because there were too many fantastic layouts in the gallery, here are a few more that caught our eye.
Never Look Back! by Kristie Taylor
Kristie reminded us of the joy of creation. The wondeful fun of being messy and mixing color, texture and pattern for her background. Coupled with the bold contrast of her photo and the delicate handwritten journaling. She has us running for the paints & inks!
Sassy Sugar by Heather Robertson
Heather showed us the fun of patterns. We love how she mixed up so many patterns and pulled them together with her embelishments. Deceptively simple but full of so many wonderful details.
The Cabin at Lake Erie by Trina Craig
Trina's World War II era photograph captivated us, and her layout is just amazing! The colors are perfect for the relaxed mood of the picture. We love the mix of patterns she used and how she's turn the edges to let some of the papers peek through. The bits of vintage elements give the page a vintage vibe, with a touch of a fresh modern flavor that makes Trina's page feel timeless.
Karen initially drew us in with her beautiful photos. But upon closer inspection you can see her beautiful details. The delicate stitching, altering her embellishments and her playful journaling... A wonderful example of how a simple layout can really pop.
It's All About Perspective by Helena Virpi
It's all about the drama. From the striking photo to the stunning background work to the thoughtful and creative approach to journaling, Helena has created a dramatic and beautiful layout. The artistic background is so interesting and full of depth--we are intrigued by how we can see so many different layers and how she's blended her photo right into the background. Helena's art makes us wish we could watch her at work to see how she created her masterpiece!
