Each week, five layouts that caught our eye will be chosen to feature as our "Most Wanted." With so many amazing layouts in the gallery, it was incredibly hard to narrow the "lineup" down to five, but here they are, in no particular order. (Please click on the title beneath the layout to take you to the layout in the gallery where you can leave the creators some comments.)
We Gotta Stick Together by Rachelle Sigurdson
The gorgeous textures on Rachelle's layout blew us away. We love how the beautiful photos seamlessly flow right into the page. The silhouette-cut photo and the title work add a surprising bit of whimsy, while the dark elements framing the layout add a sense of drama. We were intrigued by the bit of handwriting hidden in the lower left corner. Rachelle's layout is truly a visual feast!
Few and Far Between by Helena Virpi
Helena chose the perfect picture to go with this palette, and what a lovely family photo it is! We love the sentiment in her journaling. The white space and title placement draw the eye right to the photograph. The quirky edge punching is such a interesting element on this page, and the eclectic mix of accents add to the delightfully quirky feel of Helena's layout!
We fell in love with Jennifer's journaling on this lovely page! Such a gorgeous, surprising thought she captured to go with that beautiful photograph. We admire Jennifer's clean design and her wonderful attention to detail--the stitches, the twine-tied tag tucked behind the photo, the lovel metal flowers, the perfectly placed pearls. Beautiful design, beautiful story, beautiful job with the colors--Jennifer once again nailed the Case File!
What a beautiful layout Heather has created. The black-and-white photograph looks so pretty with this palette. We love all the glorious layers and Heather's exquisite distressing. The design is so interesting with that richly layered cluster at the top--so many beautiful and interesting details. The stitching is just fantastic, and we love how Heather used the negative of the circle-punch as an additional interesting layer. Heather has certainly created a "delish" layout!
For a layout with so much white space, we are fascinated by how many wonderful and interesting details Ellinor manages to place on her layout! We especially love the markings in the background that look like prints made by the sneakers and the little trio of triangels that resemble mountains covered by the torn bit of "journey" tape. We think the choice of papers was perfect and draws the eye right to the photo. Every little detail on Ellinor's layout seems perfectly placed!
And just because there were too many fantastic layouts in the gallery, here are a few more that caught our eye.
Sarah's layout is both beautiful and touching. The questions surrounding the circular element are so poignant. We love the cogs as a frame and how the way they encircle the photo almost resembles a porthole looking onto her son. The painted details give the page a wonderful masculine feel. We were touched by the story Sarah told about the perspective of the photograph. Sarah did a fantastic job with all aspects of the Case File.
Yumi's layout is absolutely gorgeous! We love the stamped chicken wire over the text paper, the distressed edges with the bit of lace and pleated paper beneath, the repetition of the clocks. We thought it was wonderful how the flower cluster seems an extension of the lovely photographs and enjoyed the bitof whimsy added by the crown right on the picture. The journaling strips with the Japanese writing looks beautiful in the open spaceon that woodgrain paper. Yumi's layout positively shines!
Escape Kitty #37 Kitty Is a Kangaroo Joey 800 by Jennifer Snyder
What a beautiful and hilarious layout Jennifer has created! We were absolutely captivated by the story Jennifer told in the description of her page (and we hope she is including this in her album). The fact that Jennifer has created this Escape Kitty album had us ROTFL! That photo is priceless, and the expression on Escape Kitty's face is hysterical. The design of Jennifer's page is just beautiful with the twine-woven circle and all the beautiful flowers and those iridescent pebbles, and the background effects are so beautiful. We can't wait to read about Escape Kitty's next adventure!
Live for the Moment by Helen Wallace
How we love Helen's storytelling voice! What a special story she has documented, and the photos are so wonderful, too. Helen's design is elegantly simple and perfect for her page. So pretty how she adorned the tree. We love how Helen incorporated the tree into both the design of her page and her story.
He Didn't Tell Me How to Live... by Debbi McCue
We were touched by Debbi's beautiful, heartfelt journaling and the messages contained in the carefully chosen quote stickers. The photograph is amazing, and we appreciated that Debbi used a large size to make it a focal point of the layout. The patterns and accents give this page an earthy, masculine feel. Debbi's layout is so meaningful and so, so beautiful.
Through Thick and Thin by Ali Parris
We love the Ali's story, which is delightfully tucked into that sweet baker's twine-wrapped acetate pocket. The composition of the page and all the details are wonderful--the sprinkled ink, the rub-ons, the sweet stick pins, the stitched-on banners... but mostly we love Ali's journaling, which documents an important message to her parents.
