I don´t really know if this is a valid LO for the challenge since it has no photos but I thought it was fun to do anyway!
A lady contacted me two years ago to complete an album for her eldest son who was turning 40. It was not so much about the photographs but about the letters and notes she had kept for him throughout his life. Everything from letters he had written to his parents, to report cards and letters and postcards written on his journeys as well as letters dedicated to him by his family members on the occasion of his birthday. After that first album, she ordered a second for her mother and now a third for her second son. This is actually the first LO I have made so far for this album and it's about the words this boy could read at age 4. Those are the words you can read in each of the kites. I thought that might be a way of elevating them!
The rectangle on the right I painted with acrylic (for the painted background)
Translated, the text reads "At age 4 you already flew high and could read all these words."
I was inspired by a watercolour by a Brazilian artist called Sergio Moura called Jugando a Volar which translated means something like "Playing I can fly"

Comment by susan stringfellow on March 21, 2012 at 10:16am what a cool idea! I think there are many times when we need to do pages without photos. Great job! And perfectly valid to me. I'm glad you played along

Comment by Shaunery on March 20, 2012 at 9:02pm WOW.. I have no idea where this falls in the "scrapping" spectrum, but really WHO cares?? This is fantastic! The concept is rockin' and I love how you're inspiring the members, you have the members hopping and the creative juices flowing! Stunning!
Comment by Rosa Daporta on March 20, 2012 at 8:39pm Very sweet layout. I think an image is not even needed. I love the idea. Can I copy it? :) My daughter is 21 months old and is starting to play with the language. Well, not just one but three: English, Galician and Spanish, too funny to hear them speak.
Come see the case file, our design team's layouts, and chat about the challenges.
