I adored this week's case file :0) is it me or are they just getting better and better??
My take is a picture of me that I found in an old shoebox (I kid you not!!) that my Mum gave to me ages ago.
I haven't stuck strictly to motherhood in my journaling as it is about my parents:
'my parents always had high hopes for and encouraged me to be the best I could be. I spent the first 1/4 of my life trying to be what they wanted, my teens were spent telling them white was black. My twenties I tried to be them and then in my 30s I knew who I was and the foundations they had laid down paid off. My career took off and I became a 'high flyer', my children were and are wonderful and my husband was finally accepted. From then on I became all they had wanted for that little baby girl 46 years ago.'
Thank you so much for looking and for all the wonderful comments that you will inevitably make as you are all so lovely and generous :0)

Comment by Helen Wallace on March 17, 2012 at 2:30am A precious photo, simply and beautifully scrapped and the journalling as always is the cherry on the top
Comment by susan stringfellow on March 16, 2012 at 9:46pm what a sweet little one! Love the simple sweet feel of the whole layout
Comment by Helena Virpi on March 16, 2012 at 2:00pm The adorable photo gets all the attention first. But the journaling is the strong piece here, Ali. Isn't it such a waste of time trying to be what our parents would like us to be OR what we THINK they want for us or from us? But I guess we just have to learn by ourselves that unless we accept who we are, we can never be happy and aren't able to render happy the people near us. Been there, done that...
Just love those few paint splatters and the flags. Nice touch :)
hugs
Comment by Shaunery on March 16, 2012 at 1:21pm Oh this is wonderful!!! This has perfect balance and it's beautiful. I agree w/ Angelica.. not a thing too much nor too sweet... You hit this spot on. Very daring to tear your photograph.. many of us wouldn't dream to tear a vintage photograph but it's bold and lovely!! I want to try this now!
Comment by Jenny Evans on March 16, 2012 at 9:49am Beautiful layout, Ali!! Love the whitespace, it makes you focus on that super cute photo of yourself! Love your journaling, your reflections...I have always been a fan of your embellishings, just perfect!! Off to your blog... :)
Comment by Angelica Åström on March 16, 2012 at 7:46am Hello sunshine :) Not a thing too much ,nor too little. Sweet and crisp but without bing mushy. One of the hardest thing for me is to do baby-pages, I´m terrifyed that it will be to cute and sugar-sweet. But You Ali , have succedeed. Indeed:) !!!!!!! Hugz / Angelica
