The case file this week is so happy and summery and the inspiration photo together with the evidence items made me want to do a cute little scene. From the evidence items I used: fence, trees, grass, flowers, clouds, and a long title. And from the testimony items: write about ‘a taste of a wonderful world’. I used mainly die-cuts to build the scene. I had so much fun making this layout.
The background was made by painting a simple watercolour landscape similar to the one in the inspiration photo. I used watercolour cardstock for this, and started with the sky, only doing the grassy hill after the sky was dry. When the grass was dry, I added some texture with dry-brushing, distressed the edges and stitched the paper to a sheet of white cardstock.
The fence was die-cut from mat board, and painted with Rock Candy Crackle Paint. When dry, I added some blue with Tumbled Glass Distress Stain. The flowers were die-cut from two patterned papers and two Core’dinations papers using the Tattered Flower Garland die, which gives a lot of flowers in different sizes. The Core’dinations ones were sanded and then I layered the flowers together. The leaves behind the flowers were die-cut from two different green patterned papers.
The journaling is on the back and is about how lucky my son is to have been born into such a great family, with a little bit of info about everyone on the photo. For him still just a small taste of something wonderful. TFL!
