Let me start off first by saying I was terrified of these colors. They are so much brighter than what I normally work with, but I was determined to give it a try. And I'm so glad that I did because I love my page. So, onto how I solved case 31...
The Evidence - I used wooden accents (asterisks), yellow wood-grain paper, liquid medium (mist and watercolor), repetition (two of the same photo), and circles.
The Testimony - I used embellishments as a canopy above my journaling area and I also used the Key West prompt as a title but also used it as a jumping off point in my journaling to write a sort of letter to my son on advice for a happy life.
And of course all the colors are there. Thanks for looking!

Comment by Annie Claxton on August 15, 2012 at 5:23am You've made the colours work so well, love the misting and stitching - and WHAT a cute picture, great idea to print it in colour and b/w, and most of all love the letter to your son, it's beautiful.
Comment by Eila Sandberg on August 14, 2012 at 11:52pm Sure was stumped at first by the colours at first but am so happy you decided to play along after all. Love how you've used both a b&w and colour piccie to enhance your page. The journalling really is fabulous - congrats on being our Star Witness of the week. Really so well deserved!
Comment by Helena Virpi on August 14, 2012 at 5:25am Sweet photo - love it in color and in b/w. The misting around the stitched circle is fantastic. Love the journaling. Took me awhile to read it though :)
So, so glad you gave this a whirl, Maryjane, because what a special page you've created! Such a darling photo (love the b/w and color together) and a great design. Love how the masked circle reveals the woodgrain. But the star of your page is your journaling, for sure!

Comment by Sarah Martin on August 13, 2012 at 2:21am Fabulous work Maryjane. I too was scared of the colour palette.
But it feels great to step out of the colour comfort zone sometimes!
What fabulous journalling.
