I had a hard time getting the colours in the child themed elements.
Evidence: distressing, child theme, metal
Testimony: childhood story.
I loved to read as a kid. My parents tell me that I was reading and writing before I started school. I started school at 4 so I must have been young when I started to read.
Books were a great place to escape to and explore beyond my environment. They fuelled my dreams and creativity. As a young child I was fond of Enid Blyton and I have the collectors edition of the Famous Five books in the treasure box my parents forwarded to me when I set up my first home. I read JR Tolkin’s Hobbit at 7 and then moved straight onto the Lord of the Rings.
In my teens I found the world of fantasy and science fiction exciting and lived in the library. Reference and non-fiction books became a passion. They were my door way into understanding and knowledge. Cultures and Science, Space and Wildlife, History and Religion. I loved them all and drank deeply from the wealth they had to offer me.
The main base of the layout and non-fiction book themed items are from the Follow Your Art Explore kits from Scrap Art Studio. I had a real hunt through my old stash to find the fictional story elements to add.

Oh, how I love your journaling, Angela, and how you made it look like a book page. And what a charming mix of elements!

Fabulous journaling! I also loved the Famour Five books as a child, I can still remember some of those stories. The way you did the journaling as on old book page is awesome.
