Gladys-#10

I reaallly hesitated to post this, as it just gave me fits. I didn't have the info I needed for the journaling, my scanner is totally off on the colors (again, so I'll be switching to a different method next week) and the new adhesive I bought wouldn't glue anything down (glue glider pro, never again) so I had to re-adhere every stinkin' slip of paper, lol.

evidence: used textures (burlap, paint and the flocked fancy pants transparency) and metal (staples and pin). For the journaling I was going to spotlife her life, but I have little info so I did the best I could. My husband doesn't know details about her life, and it's blocked on ancestry.com.
Journaling says, "Born in 1920, Bob's grandmother Gladys Fuller-Bode is still going strong. She lived her entire life in Burns, WY, relocating to Colorado recently.
The colors are completely wonky. There is not so much brown, more khaki, and the flower truly matches the pattern paper--it's rose. sigh.
Paper (K & co.), red flocked transparency (Fancy Pants), burlap, button, hat pin, ric rac who knows. The flower is SC, and the letters are plain chipboard (SC) that I paint-daubed. TFL!

Thanks for the super sweet comments, ladies.  I appreciate them!

Susan, my first glue glider cartridge was great.  The second one has been awful!  It is a repositional adhesive that is just worthless.  Maybe I just got a "bad" one.  I will have to get some of that Tombow glue, as I am always gluing "weird" stuff down.

well I certainly wouldn't know you had trouble because its a super sweet soft page. I have totally been there with the scanner and even the adhesives. Why cant they make a good adhesive. Actually I love my glue glider but I use it just for my photos. I use a paper studio brand glue stick for paper and several glues for embellishments. There is a super strong glue called Tombow Mono Metal liquid glue that is ideal for things like the burlap, metals, odd embellishments or anything that gives you trouble.

Beautiful layout! The design is great with the bigger block of patterned paper and all those litlte rectangles. SOrry about your troubles, but it was well worth it!

This turned our well despite your misgivings.  Good on you for persisting when all the odds stacked up against you.   I had to laugh when reading your tale of woe!   We've all had days like that.  Good job :)
