This is my mum christina gillespie withe the first bloom of the season. The south african King Protea is mum's favourite flower. hen we were kids, mum kept a box of plastic bags by the front door. When it rains we are suppose to run out and out the plastic bags over the flowers. This stopped them from rotting on the tree. When the sun came out we removed the plastic bags. We may not have wanted to do it,but we had no choice. When the house was sold there was 45 flowers on the tree, in feburary 2012 I went to see if it was still there, its was bigger and better and full flowers.
I have used a crown and the queen and king play cards. I have used gesso with a stamp print of a tressil and flowers, The corrugated dress with the patterned ribbon like the jumper just a diffeerent pattern. I have border punch around the edge of the red card. For my journalling I have told about what we had to do as kids in relation to the flowers.
