Hi girls,at first I wasn't sure about the colors, but I love these colors together, another awesome case.I used this months sketch from OUAS.The photo is a photo of my sister JoAnne's art.I am the oldest sibling in my family, there are 3 girls then 2 boys.JoAnne & I share the same birthday,we are a year apart.JoAnne is the artist in our family. She loved photography, working with charcoals, watercolors, acrylics & oils.At the age of 18 JoAnne was diagnosed with schizophrenia. For years she was able to cope,as she had strong family support, she spent lots of time with me,my children & my pets.As my boys got older they did not want to spend as much time with JoAnne & she lost her passion of Art.Ten years @ the age of 45 JoAnne took her life, she could not cope with that terrible disease any longer.I did not start scrapbooking until after she passed away,I never did anything artistic, except I had started to garden.I used photo's of JoAnnes art to decorate my scrapbooking room & we would have had so much fun working together in this room. She would be so happy for me,that I finally found my artist side.
The evidence:scallops, metal, flowers, crown accent, cage accent, something transparent, strong TFL for closeups of detail please visit my blog@rachiebabe56.blogspot.com

Comment by Ali Parris on July 8, 2012 at 4:34am Oh Rachelle, what a beautiful piece of work in every way. Your sister's story is such a sad one but you have documented it with flair, emotion and love.
Comment by Helena Virpi on July 5, 2012 at 12:19pm This is striking, Rachelle, in every way: emotionally and artistically. It's a strong page with the prominent black for all the struggles your sister went through with the flowers and the touches of yellow to show your love for her. I have a similar story with my brother.
Such a tragic and touching story Rachelle. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I am sure your sister would love this layout (and all your layouts). Beautiful work, gorgeous layers, details and design.

Comment by Anupama Choudary on July 4, 2012 at 12:45pm I lost my grandma to a similar illness and the only way I could achieve closure was when I scrapped a picture of her after 20 years. TFS your heart-rending story and there could not be a more beautiful tribute than this!
